What are these?
In minecraft, you can create maps that show a top down image of a chunk of land, with 1 block showing up as 1 pixel. If you change the blocks on the ground, the map will update. These were done in creative mode by replacing each block in an area to change each pixel on the map. Some of them (the more organic looking ones) keep the original terrain, while others were made into intentional designs. Here's how the maps look when put on item frames:
